Good but could have been just a tad better.
The book isn't "bad", just not what I've come to expect from the other Dummie books. I think the font could be larger and the images and pictures in the book were more detailed like in other books. It's still not a bad book, but doesn't quite follow the regular Dummie series books. Overall, it's still a decent book for the price.

I needed additional knowledge in photography due a new camera upgrade DSLR. I turned to the "Dummies" book as my past experiences with them were very good. I was NOT disappointed. The book is well laid out and follows a common sense pathway threw out. All technical drawings are very clear and precise and easy to understand for the novice photographer. Photos published in the book are there for a specific reason and are well explained as the examples they represent. I highly recommend this book for anyone seeking to improve their knowledge with Digital SLRs and to gain a better understanding of digital pros & cons. it explained clearly and concisely all terminology related to photography both digital and film. Entry level SLR books
As a newcomer to the world of SLR cameras I needed some real help understanding the complexities of my camera. I read my owners manual but could only take in small parts of it and I really wanted to get full use out of my Nikon. So, having some experience with the "Dummies" books in the past I read this one. Immediately I began to experience clarity and a new found love for my expensive camera. Each button was addressed and I was able to apply my new-found knowledge and get out of the “auto” mode for capturing images. There is additional information supplied for post-production techniques using software such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. While I personally didn’t need this information, someone who is unfamiliar would fine it useful. This will be a very handy reference tool that I will ... Excellent Book!
I thought this book was very informative and has definitely has help my understanding of my camera and photography in general. After reading my camera’s manual I still didn’t know what certain features were for or when to use them, this book gives those reasons and the pro’s and con’s for using or not using a particular feature. It also goes in to file format and editing. A must read for any beginner maybe even a good refresher for experienced photographers too.I thought this book was very informative and has definitely has help my understanding of my camera and photography in general.
