handloaders necessity
If you hand load older and odd cartridges this book give answers to a lot of questions you may have about the parent cartridge you're using. it is a good book just to read and look at the cartridges you never heard of. you can learn a lot from this book and enjoy it at the same time.

A great reference for cartridge and chamber identification! It is worth purchasing for this data alone. This book contains just shy of 1000 cartridge diagrams; wildcat, obsolete and standard modern production. The book begins with a brief series of chapters on handloading, case forming etc. A nice introduction with some excellent tips on case modification. There are other reference books that devote more time and space to handloading and this book should not be one's sole source for that information. The main content is approximately 500 pages of cartridge charts and data including; case identification, base load data, case forming information, and the cartridge chart/diagram. If you never form a wildcat or obsolete case this book will still be a gold mine of information. Many of these ... A great reference for cartridge and chamber identification! Some cartridges, standard but expensive from some retail source are easily formed from common cheap brass (if there is such a thing). Examples 9.3x62 Mauser and .338-06 A Square from .30-06. However there are numerous cartridges that prove to be formed from cases that are more rare and less available than the resulting cartridge case. A handy reference that I find more user friendly than Barnes.

a good addition
Not very detailed and certainly not a reloading manual but a broad manual on ways and means of constructing many wildcat cartridges. The authority quoted in many of these cartridges P.O. Ackley and his manuals #1 and #2 are a must have for any reloader of non factory ammunition.
