It’s the perfect gift for both adults and kids. It's also a perfect set for play at any time of the year, not just during the holidays. This LEGO railway set is recommended for ages 8 and up. The LEGO Trains Cargo Railway set was released in 1996. It is powered by a standard 9-volt power supply. The 9V train type system was discontinued in 2007. They are rare and long out of production. These trains and track systems are no longer being used by LEGO. The track sections and motor parts are becoming increasingly scarce. Both children and children at heart will love this LEGO set. It is a great collection to add to your LEGO brick empire. This LEGO set features a unique futuristic design. It is designed with cars that could be easily converted from cargo to passenger. The individual sections can be slid into and out of the train in a number of different configurations. This is great for people who are not content with playing with the same LEGO layout day after day.There are four miniature cargo pods that have fold-down legs that slide into the ends of the cars. One is a fuel car complete with hose and reel. The second is a safe for transporting money, armored car style. The next two are specialized cargo pods: a baggage pod and a mail pod. There are also four passenger units that can be dropped into the midsection of each of the cars. Two of the passenger units are seated passenger cars, and the other two are sleeper cars, complete with bunk beds. The set also includes a lift truck that can lift and slide the miniature pods into the cars. It also hooks directly into the larger passenger units. There is a track side ramp that allows inventory and bricks to be easily loaded into the cars. An oval of guide track and a speed controller are included in the box.This LEGO 4559 set comes with some already constructed pieces. You can have fun mixing and matching pieces from this set with some of the brick parts you already own. This allows you to create your own additional new LEGO cars in your own trademark style. It is also compatible with any other 9V train brick set. This set includes 814 parts and 7 minifigures. The LEGO group of companies is well-known for providing detailed assembly instructions. The set even comes with smaller specialty bricks that resemble money for staging your own train robbery. There are individual mail type brick pieces for creating your own mail train. It is fun for those who are young and young at heart to power up the train. Once it’s built, watch it chug its way around the included track for hours on end.
